Man says, 'What, when I am dead shall I then be brought forth alive?' 66 Does not man remember that We created him before, when he was nothing? 67 And, by thy Lord, verily We shall assemble them and the devils, then We shall bring them, crouching, around hell. 68 and thereupon We shall, indeed, draw forth from every group [of sinners] the ones that had been most determined in their disdainful rebellion against the Most Gracious: 69 Then surely it is We who are the Best Knower of these worthiest of being therein roasted. 70 And every one of you will come within sight of it: this is, with thy Sustainer, a decree that must be fulfilled. 71 Then We shall rescue those who kept from evil, and leave the evil-doers crouching there. 72 When Our clear revelations are recited to those who deny the Truth they are wont to say to those who have faith: "Which of the two groups has a better status and whose assemblies are grander?" 73 How many generations that had far more wealth and ostentation have We laid low before them! 74 Say: "As for him who lives in error, may the Most Gracious lengthen the span of his life! [And let them say whatever they say until the time when they behold that [doom] of which they were forewarned - whether it be suffering [in this world] or [at the coming of] the Last Hour - for then they will understand which [of the two kinds of man] was worse in station and weaker in resources! 75 And God endows those who avail themselves of [His] guidance with an ever-deeper consciousness of the right way; and good deeds, the fruit whereof endures forever, are, in thy Sustainer's sight, of far greater merit [than any worldly goods,] and yield far better returns. 76 Have you seen he who disbelieves Our verses and yet says: 'I shall surely be given wealth and children' 77 Has he seen the Hidden, or has he made a pact with the Most Gracious? 78 By no means! We shall write down that which he saith; and We shall lengthen for him of the torment a length. 79 And We will inherit him [in] what he mentions, and he will come to Us alone. 80 And they have taken gods, other than Allah, that they might be a power from them. 81 By no means! anon they shall deny their worship, and become unto them an adversary. 82
