Smoke (Al-Dukhaan)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Ha'. Mim. 1 I swear by the Book that makes manifest (the truth). 2 We sent it down during a Blessed Night: for We (ever) wish to warn (against Evil). 3 on that night every wise decree is specified 4 at a behest from Ourselves: for, verily, We have always been sending [Our messages of guidance] 5 A mercy from your Lord; indeed He only is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 6 The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you (but) have a faith with certainty. 7 There is no god other than He, who gives you life and death, your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of old. 8 But they are in doubt, amusing themselves. 9 Wait, then, for the Day when the sky brings forth plainly visible clouds of smoke. 10 That will envelop the people. This will be a painful punishment. 11 Then they will say, "Lord, relieve us from this torment, for truly we are now believers in You." 12 How can they benefit from admonition, seeing that a messenger had already come to them explaining things clearly? 13 Then they had turned away from him (Messenger Muhammad SAW) and said: "One (Muhammad SAW) taught (by a human being), a madman!" 14 If We remove the torment a little, you revert back (to misdeeds). 15 The day that We shall seize them with a grievous hold, We will indeed castigate them. 16 ۞ We tried Pharaoh's nation before them. A noble Messenger came to them, 17 saying, "Hand over God's servants to me. I am a trustworthy messenger for you. 18 And saying, “And do not rebel against Allah; I have brought a clear proof to you.” 19 and, behold, it is with my Sustainer - and your Sustainer - that I seek refuge against all your endeavours to revile me. 20 But if you do not believe what I say, leave me alone (and desist from laying hands on me).” 21 (But they were aggressive:) then he cried to his Lord: "These are indeed a people given to sin." 22 (He was told): “Set out with My servants by night for you will certainly be pursued. 23 Cross the sea by cutting a path through it. Pharaoh's army will be drowned. 24 How many gardens and fountains they left behind them, 25 and sown fields and splendid mansions, 26 And the comfort they enjoyed. 27 Thus. And We caused to inherit it another people. 28 And neither heaven nor earth shed a tear over them: nor were they given a respite (again). 29
