Seest thou one who turns back, 33 And gave a little, then was grudging? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 and that a man shall have to his account only as he has laboured, 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 that it is He who brings laughter and tears; 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 and that He Himself created the two sexes: male and female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 and before them the people of Noah who were even more unjust and insolent; 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 So that there covered them that which did cover. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
