Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon darkens 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
