The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O, you, wrapped in your cloak, 1 arise and give warning! 2 And your Lord (Allah) magnify! 3 Purify your inner self, 4 and shun uncleanness, 5 and do not think that by doing such deeds, you have done a great favor to God. 6 and persevere for your Lord's sake. 7 When the Horn is blown, 8 That shall be - that Day - a day hard. 9 For the infidels, not easy. 10 LEAVE Me alone [to deal] with him whom I have created alone, 11 And then granted him resources in abundance. 12 And children to be by his side! 13 and whom I have provided with every resource, 14 And yet he desires that I should add more! 15 Never! For he is an enemy to Our signs! 16 On him I shall impose a fearful doom. 17 For lo! he did consider; then he planned - 18 and woe to him; how he plotted! 19 yea, he destroys himself, the way he meditates! 20 Then he looked around, 21 Then he frowned and he scowled; 22 Then he turned back and was haughty; 23 and said, "This is nothing but sorcery from the ancients. 24 “This is nothing but the speech of a man.” 25 I will cast him into the fire of Hell. 26 And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is? 27 It leaves naught nor does it spare aught. 28 Burning the skins! 29 Over it are nineteen [angels]. 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
