When the messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 He said: "Verily! You are people unknown to me." 62 They said: Nay, but we bring thee that concerning which they keep disputing, 63 “And we have brought to you a true command, and indeed we are truthful.” 64 So travel with thy household in a portion of the night, and follow thou their backs. Let none of you turn round, but go whither ye are commanded. 65 And We communicated to him the decree that by the morning those people will be totally destroyed. 66 The people of the town came along, revelling, 67 Exclaimed [Lot]: "Behold, these are my guests: so put me not to shame, 68 Have fear of Allah, and do not humiliate me." 69 They replied: "Did we not forbid you again and again to extend hospitality to all and sundry?" 70 Lot exclaimed in exasperation: "If you are bent on doing something, then here are my daughters." 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 and thereupon the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at sunrise. 73 We turned the town upside down and rained upon them stones of clay. 74 Verily, in all this there are messages indeed for those who can read the signs: 75 This (city) lies on a road that still survives. 76 surely in this there is a sign for those who believe. 77 The people of the Wood were also surely wrongdoers. 78 We therefore took revenge from them; and indeed both these townships are situated on an open road. 79
