Noah cried to Us, and how excellent was Our response! 75 And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 'Peace be upon Noah among all the worlds' 79 As such We recompense the gooddoers, 80 Verily he was of Our bondmen believing. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And verily of his sect was Ibrahim. 83 When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart; 84 and asked his father and his people, "What is that you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the whole Universe?” 87 Then he glanced a glance on the stars. 88 Then he said: Surely I am sick (of your worshipping these). 89 But they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 What is the matter with you, why do you not speak?” 92 Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand. 93 And (his people) came toward him, hastening. 94 He said: "Worship you that which you (yourselves) carve? 95 "But Allah has created you and your handwork!" 96 They said: Build for him a building and fling him in the red-hotfire. 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 He said: 'I will go to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' 100 So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, 103 We cried unto him: O Ibrahim 104 "Thou hast already fulfilled the vision!" - thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 105 that surely was a manifest trial, 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and We preserved for him a good name among posterity. 108 'Peace be upon Abraham!' 109 This is how We reward the virtuous. 110 He was one of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. 112 We blessed him and Isaac: but of their progeny are (some) that do right, and (some) that obviously do wrong, to their own souls. 113
