The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did). 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 And he shall roast into a Blaze. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 Then what ails them, that they believe not, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 But Allah has full knowledge of what they secrete (in their breasts) 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
