Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

The mutual rivalry for piling up (the good things of this world) diverts you (from the more serious things), 1 Until you visit the graves (i.e. till you die). 2 You shall know. 3 Again, no indeed, you shall soon know. 4 You will certainly have the knowledge of your deeds beyond all doubt. 5 For ye will behold hell-fire. 6 Again, you shall surely see it with the sight of certainty. 7 Then, on that day, ye will be asked concerning pleasure. 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
