(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 And We delivered him and his people from the great distress, 76 And his offspring! them We made the survivors. 77 And We left for him among the posterity. 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 That is how We recompense the righteous: 80 Surely he was one of Our truly believing servants. 81 [and so We saved him and those who followed him] and then We caused the others to drown. 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 When he came unto his Lord with a whole heart; 84 and said to his father and his people: “Whom do you worship? 85 Is it a calumny, gods apart from God, that you desire? 86 “So what do you assume regarding the Lord Of The Creation?” (That He will not punish you?) 87 Then he looked up at the stars (they worshipped), 88 and said: 'Surely, I am sick (of what you worship)' 89 And they turned their backs on him and went away. (The pagans thought he would transmit the disease). 90 Then he turned towards their gods and said: "Why do you not eat (of these offerings)? 91 What is [wrong] with you that you do not speak?" 92 Then he attacked them, striking with his right hand. 93 [But] then the others came towards him hurriedly [and accused him of his deed]. 94 but he said, "How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, 95 when it is Allah who created you and all that you do' 96 They said, "Build him a furnace, and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 They plotted against him, but We brought humiliation upon them. 98 He said, 'I am going to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord! Vouchsafe me of the righteous. 100 So We gave him the good news of a clement son. 101 and when he was old enough to go about and work with him, (one day) Abraham said to him: “My son, I see in my dream that I am slaughtering you. So consider (and tell me) what you think.” He said: “Do as you are bidden. You will find me, if Allah so wills, among the steadfast.” 102 Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face, 103 We cried out: “O Abraham, 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 This was indeed a plain trial. 106 And We rescued him in exchange of a great sacrifice. (The sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismail peace be upon them is commemorated every year on 10, 11 and 12 Zil Haj). 107 And We left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations (to come) in later times. 108 "Peace be upon Abraham!" 109 Thus do We reward the good. 110 He was one of Our believing worshipers. 111 And We gave him the good news of Isaac - a prophet,- one of the Righteous. 112 We blessed him and Isaac: but of their progeny are (some) that do right, and (some) that obviously do wrong, to their own souls. 113

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
