Or did those in whose hearts is sickness think that God would not bring to light their rancour? 29 If We willed, We would show them to you and you would recognize them by their marks. But you will surely know them by their twisted speech. Allah knows your deeds. 30 We shall try you in order to know who are the fighters among you, and who are men of fortitude, and verify your histories. 31 Surely, they who are bent on denying the truth and on barring [others] from the path of God, and oppose the Messenger when they have been shown guidance, cannot harm God in any way. He will cause all their deeds to come to nothing. 32 O People who Believe! Obey Allah and obey the Noble Messenger, and do not render your deeds void. 33 ۞ Verily, as for those who are bent on denying the truth and on barring [others] from the path of God, and then die as deniers of the truth - indeed, God will not grant them forgiveness! 34 So, be not faint-hearted and do not cry for peace. You shall prevail. Allah is with you and will not bring your works to nought. 35 The worldly life is only a childish game. If you have faith and piety, you will receive your rewards and God will not ask you to pay for them. 36 If He were to ask it [wealth] of you, and continued to press you, you would be niggardly, and this would show your ill-will. 37 Yes, undoubtedly it is you who are being called, that you may spend in Allah’s way; so some among you act miserly; and whoever is miserly, is being a miser upon himself; and Allah is the Independent (Wealthy – Not requiring anything), whereas you all are needy; and if you renege, He will replace you with other people – and they will not be like you. 38
