Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 These are verses of the Book of Wisdom 2 a guidance and mercy for the doers of good, 3 who establish the prayer, pay the obligatory charity, and firmly believe in the Everlasting Life. 4 These are on (true) guidance from their Lord: and these are the ones who will prosper. 5 And of mankind is he who purchases idle talks (i.e. music, singing, etc.) to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah without knowledge, and takes it (the Path of Allah, the Verses of the Quran) by way of mockery. For such there will be a humiliating torment (in the Hell-fire). 6 And when Our Verses (of the Quran) are recited to such a one, he turns away in pride, as if he heard them not, as if there were deafness in his ear. So announce to him a painful torment. 7 The righteously striving believers will enter Paradise 8 Wherein they abide eternally; [it is] the promise of Allah [which is] truth. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. 9 He created the heavens without any pillars visible to you and He placed mountains in the earth as pegs lest it should turn topsy turvy with you, and He dispersed all kinds of animals over the earth, and sent down water from the sky causing all kinds of excellent plants to grow on it. 10 this is God's creation. Show me then what those besides Him have created! The wrongdoers are in manifest error. 11
