Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Ha Mim 1 A revelation from the Beneficent, the Merciful, 2 A Book whose signs have been distinguished as an Arabic Koran for a people having knowledge, 3 Giving glad tidings and heralding warning; so most of them turned away, therefore they cannot listen (to the truth). 4 And they say: Our hearts are protected from that unto which thou (O Muhammad) callest us, and in our ears there is a deafness, and between us and thee there is a veil. Act, then. Lo! we also shall be acting. 5 Say thou, [O Prophet:] "I am but a mortal like you. It has been revealed to me that your God is the One God: go, then, straight towards Him and seek His forgiveness!" And woe unto those who ascribe divinity to aught beside Him, 6 Those who practise not regular Charity, and who even deny the Hereafter. 7 Verily those who believe and work righteous works - unto them shall be a hire unceasing. 8
