Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 and raise (clouds) and scatter them around, 3 separating one from another, 4 and those (angels) dropping, reminding 5 As justification or warning, 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the messengers are brought unto their time appointed - 11 For what day is it timed? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 15 Have We not destroyed the earlier generations? 16 Then did We follow them up with later ones. 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 The living and the dead, 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 "Neither shading, nor of any use against the fierce flame of the Fire." 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 as black camels. 33 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
