The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
