The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Woe unto every slandering traducer, 1 Who amasses wealth and considers it a provision (against mishap); 2 Does he think that his wealth will prolong his stay on earth forever? 3 Never! He will certainly be thrown into the Crushing One. 4 What shall let you know what the Crusher is? 5 It is the fire of Allah, [eternally] fueled, 6 Which leaps up over the hearts, 7 Lo! it is closed in on them 8 In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.). 9
True are the words of God the Almighty.
