Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
