The Human (Al-Insan)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Has there come on man a while of time when he was a thing unremembered? 1 Lo! We create man from a drop of thickened fluid to test him; so We make him hearing, knowing. 2 Verily, We have shown him the way: [and it rests with him to prove himself] either grateful or ungrateful. 3 Surely We have prepared for the unbelievers chains, fetters, and a Blaze. 4 Surely the devotees will drink cups flavoured with palm blossoms 5 a spring from which God's servants will drink, making it gush forth in branches. 6 They fulfill their vow and dread a Day the evil whereof shall be widespreading. 7 And feed with food the needy wretch, the orphan and the prisoner, for love of Him, 8 "We only feed you for the sake of God and we do not want any reward or thanks from you. 9 Verily we dread from our Lord a Day grim and distressful. 10 Therefore Allah will guard them from the evil of that day and cause them to meet with ease and happiness; 11 And gave them Paradise and silk clothes, as a reward for their patience. 12 Where they will recline on couches feeling neither heat of the sun nor intense cold. 13 near them shall be its shades, and its clusters hung meekly down, 14 And there will be circulated among them vessels of silver and cups having been [created] clear [as glass], 15 (Bright as) glass but (made) of silver, which they (themselves) have measured to the measure (of their deeds). 16 And therein they shall be given to drink of a cup whereof the admixture will be ginger. 17 Which is a spring in Paradise called Salsabeel. 18 ۞ And round about them will (serve) boys of everlasting youth. If you see them, you would think them scattered pearls. 19 And when you look towards it, you will see serenity and a great kingdom. 20 Upon them will be green Garments of fine silk and heavy brocade, and they will be adorned with Bracelets of silver; and their Lord will give to them to drink of a Wine Pure and Holy. 21 (And it will be said to them): "Verily, this is a reward for you, and your endeavour has been accepted." 22
