At length when the messengers arrived among the adherents of Lut, 61 He said: "You are people I do not know." 62 They said: nay! we have come to thee with that whereof they have been dubitating. 63 We truly tell you that we have brought to you the Truth. 64 Depart with your family in a part of the night and walk behind them and let none of you turn round. Go to a place where you are commanded' 65 And We conveyed to him [the decree] of that matter: that those [sinners] would be eliminated by early morning. 66 Then came the people of the city, exulting at the news. 67 and he told them, "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 Have fear of Allah, and do not humiliate me." 69 They (people of the city) said: "Did we not forbid you to entertain (or protect) any of the 'Alamin (people, foreigners, strangers, etc. from us)?" 70 He said: these are my daughters, if act ye must. 71 By thy life, they wandered blindly in their dazzlement, 72 So the rumbling overtook them (while) entering upon the time of sunrise; 73 and turned the land upside down, and rained down stones of baked clay. 74 Lo! therein verily are portents for those who read the signs. 75 surely it is on a way yet remaining; 76 Surely, in that there is a sign for those who believe. 77 The dwellers of the Wood (near Midian) were also wicked. 78 So We punished them too. They are both situated by the highway, clearly visible. 79
