The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 There is no belying its coming to pass-- 2 Abasing exalting. 3 When the earth is shaken 4 and the mountains will crumble 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 And you (all) will be in three kinds (i.e. separate groups). 7 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 Then the foremost, how pre-excellent, 10 (The foremost ones) will be the nearest ones to God 11 in the Gardens of Bliss. 12 A multitude from the ancients. 13 And a few of later ages, 14 They will recline on jewelled couches 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Youths of never-ending bloom will pass round to them 17 With goblets and ewers and a cup of pure drink; 18 by which their minds will not be clouded and which will not make them drunk; 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 And the flesh of fowl such as they desire. 21 And (there will be) Houris (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious), 22 The likes unto pearls hidden. 23 as reward for their deeds. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 except each other's greetings of, "Peace be with you". 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 (They will be) among Lote-trees without thorns, 28 Bananatrees, piled 29 and extended shade, 30 and flowing water 31 And fruit abundant. 32 Neither ending nor forbidden. 33 And maidens incomparable. 34 We have formed them in a distinctive fashion, 35 Then We have made them virgins, 36 Loving companions matched in age, 37 All this will be for the People on the Right; 38
