Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
