Al-Mu' minoon 3 of 6
And the chiefs of his people, who disbelieved and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, and to whom We had given the luxuries and comforts of this life, said: "He is no more than a human being like you, he eats of that which you eat, and drinks of what you drink. 33 And if you obey a mortal like yourselves, then most surely you will be losers: 34 Promiseth he unto you that ye, when ye have died and have become dust and bones, ye are to be brought forth? 35 ۞ “How remote, (really) how remote is the promise you are given!” 36 There is no life beyond our life in this world: we die and we live [but once,] and we shall never be raised from the dead! 37 “He is just a man who has fabricated a lie against Allah, and we are not going to believe him.” 38 (The prophet) said: "O my Lord! help me: for that they accuse me of falsehood." 39 (Allah) said: "In but a little while, they are sure to be sorry!" 40 So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them with justice, and We made them as rubbish of dead plants. So away with the people who are Zalimun (polytheists, wrong-doers, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, disobedient to His Messengers, etc.). 41 Then We raised after them other generations. 42 No nation can outstrip its term, nor can it put it back. 43 Then sent We our messengers in succession: every time there came to a people their messenger, they accused him of falsehood: so We made them follow each other (in punishment): We made them as a tale (that is told): So away with a people that will not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our Signs and a clear authority 45 unto Pharaoh and his great ones; but these behaved with arrogance, for they were people wont to glorify [only] themselves. 46 And so they said: "Shall we believe [them] two mortals like ourselves - although their people are our slaves?" 47 They called them liars and consequently were destroyed. 48 And indeed We gave Musa (Moses) the Scripture, that they may be guided. 49 And We made Mary's son, and his mother, a Sign, and We gave them refuge on a lofty ground, a peaceful site with springs flowing in it. 50
