The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the star when it plunges, 1 Your companion [Muhammad] has not strayed, nor has he erred, 2 and neither does he speak out of his own desire: 3 Indeed it is not except a Revelation which is revealed, 4 The Lord of Mighty Power has taught him, 5 Lord of power and wisdom. So he acquired poise and balance, 6 being on the higher horizon, 7 Then he approached and came closer, 8 So he was the measure of two bows or closer still. 9 so (Allah) revealed to His worshiper (Gabriel) that which he revealed (to Prophet Muhammad). 10 His heart added no untruth to what he saw. 11 Will you then argue with him about what he saw? 12 And indeed, he saw him a second time 13 to the Lot-tree (in the seven heavens) 14 near which is Paradise. 15 When there comes to the Lote Tree, that which comes 16 His eye did not waver, nor did it stray, 17 Verily he saw one of the greater revelations of his Lord. 18 So did you observe the idols Lat and Uzza? 19 and Manat the third, the other? 20 Is the male for you and for Him the female? 21 That is indeed an unjust division. 22 these are nothing but names which you yourselves have devised, you and your forefathers. God has sent down no authority for them. They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own selves desire, even though guidance has already come to them from their Lord! 23 Or shall man have what he wishes? 24 But unto Allah belongeth the after (life), and the former. 25
