The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He created man, 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 The plants and trees prostrate before Him. 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 In order that ye may not transgress (due) balance. 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 Also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, and Lord of the two Wests! 17 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 18 He has made the two seas to flow freely (so that) they meet together: 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
