Did you (O Muhammad SAW) observe him who turned away (from Islam). 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Or, does he possess knowledge of the Unseen, and can therefore see? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 And that it is He Who made (you) laugh and made (you) cry? 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 And that He is the Lord of the Sirius; 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 He plunged the villages 53 So that they were covered over by what they were covered over. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 Will you remain proudly heedless? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
