Hizb 46
< random >
And verily Yunus was of the sent ones. 139 When he ran away (like a slave from captivity) to the ship (fully) laden, 140 And he drew lots and was among the losers. 141 And the fish swallowed him while he was blameworthy; 142 And were he not one of those who praise. 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, 145 and We caused a pumpkin tree to grow over him. 146 And [then] We sent him [once again] to [his people,] a hundred thousand [souls] or more: 147 and they believed in him: so We let them live in ease for a while. 148 (Muhammad), ask them, "Do daughters belong to your Lord and sons to them? 149 Or did We create the angels as females while they were witnesses?" 150 Now surely it is of their own lie that they say: 151 "God has begotten [a son]"; and verily, they are lying [too, when they say,] 152 Has He (then) chosen daughters rather than sons? 153 What aileth you? How judge ye? 154 Do you not understand? 155 Or have ye a clear warrant? 156 Then bring your scripture, if what you say is true. 157 And they have made between Him and the jinn a kinship whereas the jinn assuredly know that they are to be brought up 158 God is far above what they attribute to Him, 159 except for the sincere worshipers of Allah. 160 So indeed, you [disbelievers] and whatever you worship, 161 You cannot tempt [anyone] away from Him 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 And there is none of us but has an assigned place, 164 we are those who stand ranged in ranks. 165 Verily, we (angels), we are they who glorify (Allah's Praises i.e. perform prayers). 166 They used to say before: 167 Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. 168 We would be single-minded slaves of Allah. 169 They therefore denied it, so they will soon come to know. 170 Already Our Word has preceded to Our servants, the Envoys; 171 That they verily would be helped, 172 And most surely Our host alone shall be the victorious ones. 173 So withdraw from them (O Muhammad) awhile, 174 And watch them and they shall see (the punishment)! 175 Do they want to hasten Our punishment? 176 But then, once it alights upon them, hapless will be the awakening of those who were warned [to no avail]! 177 So turn away from them for a time 178 And watch, for they will soon see. 179 Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe. 180 And peace be upon the Envoys; 181 And all praise is to Allah, the Lord Of The Creation. 182
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
