The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 And you will become divided into three categories. 7 Those on the Right -- how blessed are those on the Right! 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 (The foremost ones) will be the nearest ones to God 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 A multitude of those of old 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 They will recline on jewelled couches 15 Reclining therein face to face. 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 a drink by which their minds will not be clouded nor will it cause drunkenness; 19 And with fruits, any that they may select: 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 And [for them are] fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes, 22 Like pearls safely hidden. 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 There hear they no vain speaking nor recrimination 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 The Companions of the Right Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? 27 They shall be in the midst of thornless lote trees, 28 And [banana] trees layered [with fruit] 29 And a shade ever-spread. 30 Gushing water, 31 And fruits numberless, 32 never-ending and unforbidden. 33 And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high. 34 Verily We! We have created those maidens by a creation. 35 and shall have made them virgins, 36 Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- 37 All this will be for the People on the Right; 38
