Al-Haaqqah 2 of 2
I swear by all that you can see, 38 And what you do not see 39 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is the word of a noble Messenger. 40 It is not the word of a poet but only a few of you have faith, 41 Nor the word of a soothsayer; little is it that you mind. 42 It is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe. 43 Had he invented sayings against Us, 44 We would have seized him by his right hand, 45 and would indeed have cut his life-vein. 46 Then none among you would be his saviour. 47 But verily this is a Message for the Allah-fearing. 48 And indeed We know that some among you are deniers. 49 And indeed it is a despair for the disbelievers. 50 And He, He is indeed the ultimate Reality. 51 So exalt the name of your Lord, the Most Great. 52

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
