The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ EXTOL the limitless glory of thy Sustainer's name: [the glory of] the Al-Highest, 1 Who creates and proportions, 2 And Who has measured (preordainments for each and everything even to be blessed or wretched); then guided (i.e. showed mankind the right as well as wrong paths, and guided the animals to pasture); 3 Who brought forth the pasture, 4 Then maketh it to stubble dusky. 5 We shall make you recite so that you will not forget, 6 save what God may will [thee to forget] - for, verily, He [alone] knows all that is open to [man's] perception as well as all that is hidden [from it] 7 We shall take you slowly towards ease. 8 Remind, if the reminder can be of benefit. 9 He will heed who feareth, 10 But the most hapless will flout it, 11 He who shall roast into the Great Fire, 12 In which they will then neither die nor live. 13 Indeed whosoever purifies himself (by avoiding polytheism and accepting Islamic Monotheism) shall achieve success, 14 And magnifies the name of his Lord and prays. 15 No; but you prefer the present life, 16 although the Hereafter is better and more lasting. 17 Lo! This is in the former scrolls. 18 the Scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
