Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces will on that Day be downcast, 2 Travailing, worn. 3 they shall burn in a Scorching Fire; 4 given to drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food will there be for them but a poisonous thorny plant, 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 (Other) faces that Day will be joyful, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 in a garden sublime, 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 Countless springs will flow therein, 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 And goblets set at hand 14 And cushions ranged! 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 how the earth was outstretched? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 You are not over them a controller. 22 But whoever turns back and denies the truth, 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 Indeed, to Us they shall return, 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
