WITH ALL THIS, man [often] says, "What! Once I am dead, shall I again be brought forth alive?" 66 Doth not man remember that We created him before, when he was naught? 67 By your Lord, We shall most surely gather them and the devils too; and bring them close to hell on their knees. 68 and thereupon We shall, indeed, draw forth from every group [of sinners] the ones that had been most determined in their disdainful rebellion against the Most Gracious: 69 Then, surely it is We who are most knowing of those most worthy of burning therein. 70 There is not one of you who shall not go down to it: such is a thing decreed, determined by your Lord. 71 We shall deliver those who took heed for themselves, and leave the evil-doers kneeling there. 72 When Our lucid revelations are read out to them, the infidels say to those who believe: "Which of the two groups is better in standing, and whose company is more excellent?" 73 How many a generation have We destroyed before them, who were more imposing in respect of gear and outward seeming! 74 Say: "Ar-Rahman extends the life of those who are astray until they come to realise what had been promised them was either (physical) affliction or (the terror) of Resurrection. Then will they know who is worse in position, and who is weak in supporters. 75 And God endows those who avail themselves of [His] guidance with an ever-deeper consciousness of the right way; and good deeds, the fruit whereof endures forever, are, in thy Sustainer's sight, of far greater merit [than any worldly goods,] and yield far better returns. 76 Then, have you seen he who disbelieved in Our verses and said, "I will surely be given wealth and children [in the next life]?" 77 Has he seen the Hidden, or has he made a pact with the Most Gracious? 78 Absolutely not, We will record his words and prolong his punishment. 79 and We shall inherit all the resources and hosts of which he boasts, and he will come to Us all alone. 80 And they have taken gods besides Allah, that they should be to them a source of strength; 81 Never. They will deny their devotion and become their adversaries. 82
