Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
HA MIM. 1 By the Scripture which maketh plain, 2 That We made it a distinctly lucid Qur'an that you may understand. 3 And verily, it is in the Mother of the Book, in Our Presence, high (in dignity), full of wisdom. 4 Should We divert this Good Counsel from you because you are a people immersed in extravagance? 5 How many a Prophet We sent among the ancients, 6 but not a Prophet came to them, without they mocked at him; 7 So We destroyed far more powerful (nations) than they. The example of earlier people is there. 8 (Muhammad), if you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" They will certainly say, "The Majestic and All-knowing God has created them". 9 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and appointed ways for you therein, that haply you may be guided; 10 And Who sends down water (rain) from the sky in due measure. Then We revive a dead land therewith, and even so you will be brought forth (from the dead), 11 And, (it is He) who has created all the pairs and appointed for you ships and the cattle on which you ride, 12 so that perhaps when you ride them, you will recall the bounties of your Lord and when you establish your control over it you would say, "Glory belongs to Him who has made it subservient to us when we would not have been able to do so ourselves. 13 “And indeed we have to return to our Lord.” 14 Yet they make some of His creatures His offspring! Man is surely most ungrateful. 15
