The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are united, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and brightening morning, 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 obeyed by (all creatures) and faithful to His trust. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily, this (the Quran) is no less than a Reminder to (all) the 'Alamin (mankind and jinns). 27 So let those who want, choose the right guidance 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Lord of the Universe, so wills it [to show you that way]. 29
