A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Alif, Lam, Mim, Sad. 1 (This is the) Book (the Quran) sent down unto you (O Muhammad SAW), so let not your breast be narrow therefrom, that you warn thereby, and a reminder unto the believers. 2 Follow (O men!) the revelation given unto you from your Lord, and follow not, as friends or protectors, other than Him. Little it is ye remember of admonition. 3 How many towns We have destroyed. Our scourge fell upon them by night or at midday when they were resting: 4 And their declaration when Our punishment came to them was only that they said, "Indeed, we were wrongdoers!" 5 Then We will surely question those to whom [a message] was sent, and We will surely question the messengers. 6 We will tell them with absolute certainty (what they had done) for We had never been absent from them (during their lifetime). 7 And the weighing [of deeds] that Day will be the truth. So those whose scales are heavy - it is they who will be the successful. 8 And as for those whose scale is light: those are they who lose their souls because they used to wrong Our revelations. 9 YEA, INDEED, [O men,] We have given you a [bountiful] place on earth, and appointed thereon means of livelihood for you: [yet] how seldom are you grateful! 10
