And indeed Nooh prayed to Us – so what an excellent Acceptor of Prayer We are! 75 And We delivered him and his people from the Great Calamity, 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 And left for him (a goodly remembrance) among generations to come in later times: 78 Peace and salutation to Nuh among the nations. 79 As such We recompense the gooddoers, 80 He was one of Our believing servants. 81 We drowned all the others (besides Noah and his people). 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart. 84 and asked his father and his people, "What is that you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 what, then, is your opinion of the Lord of the worlds? 87 Then he looked at the stars, looking up once, 88 and said, "Verily, I am sick [at heart]!" 89 But they went away from him, turning their backs. 90 Then he turned to their gods, and said: 'What do you eat? 91 What aileth you that ye speak not? 92 He struck them with his right hand. 93 [But] then the others came towards him hurriedly [and accused him of his deed]. 94 He said, 'Do you serve what you hew, 95 even though God created both you and that which you have made?" 96 They said: build for him a building and cast him into the flaming fire. 97 (This failing), they then sought a stratagem against him, but We made them the ones most humiliated! 98 He said: 'I will go to my Lord; He will guide me. 99 Abraham prayed, "Lord, grant me a righteous son". 100 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). 101 and when he had reached the age of running with him, he said, 'My son, I see in a dream that I shall sacrifice thee; consider, what thinkest thou?' He said, 'My father, do as thou art bidden; thou shalt find me, God willing, one of the steadfast.' 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 We called unto him: O Abraham! 104 You have fulfilled the vision." Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 105 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a momentous sacrifice: 107 And left (his hallowed memory) for posterity. 108 'Peace be upon Abraham' 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 For he was one of our believing Servants. 111 So We gave him the good news of Isaac, apostle, who is among the righteous. 112 And We sent blessings upon him and Ishaq; and among their descendants – some who do good deeds, and some who clearly wrong themselves. 113
