The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Star when it goes down,- 1 your comrade is not astray, neither errs, 2 He does not speak out of his own desires. 3 It is not but a revelation revealed, 4 Which one of mighty powers hath taught him, 5 Endued with Wisdom: for he appeared (in stately form); 6 while he was in the highest horizon; 7 Then he approached and descended 8 until he was but two bow-lengths away, or even nearer. 9 And he revealed to His Servant what he revealed. 10 The heart lied not (in seeing) what it saw. 11 What, will you dispute with him about what he sees! 12 Indeed, he saw him in another descent 13 At the farthest lote-tree; 14 near which is Paradise. 15 (This was) when the lote-tree was covered with that which covered it. 16 The sight turned not aside, nor it exceeded. 17 Indeed he (Muhammad SAW) did see, of the Greatest Signs, of his Lord (Allah). 18 Have you considered Lat and 'Uzza, 19 and, another, the third manat? 20 What, have you males, and He females? 21 This indeed is an unjust division! 22 They are naught but names which you have named, you and your fathers; Allah has not sent for them any authority. They follow naught but conjecture and the low desires which (their) souls incline to; and certainly the guidance has come to them from their Lord. 23 Does man imagine that whatever he wishes for is right for him? 24 All that is in the life to come and all that is in this life belongs only to God. 25

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
