The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful One 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 He created man. 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon are made punctual. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees with their dates in sheaths, 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man from clay like that of earthenware. 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 In-between the twain is a barrier which they pass not. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
