The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the piercing star - 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By oath of the sky from which comes down the rain. 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 not a flippant jest. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
