The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created (all that exists), 1 Created man from a clinging substance. 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 No indeed; surely Man waxes insolent, 6 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 A bondman of Ours when he prayeth 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 or is concerned with God-consciousness? 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Does he not know that Allah does see? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 So let him summon his helpmates; 17 We shall summon the guards of Hell. 18 Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
