Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those that are sent, one after the other. (The verses of the Holy Qur’an or the angels or the winds). 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 Consider these [messages] that spread [the truth] far and wide, 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 Then I swear by the angels who bring down the revelation, 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are extinguished, 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 and when the mountains crumble into dust 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients, 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a worthless water (semen, etc.)? 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 for an appointed time? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Did We not make the earth a storehouse? 25 for the living and the dead, 26 place on it high mountains and provide you with fresh water? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Depart unto the shadow falling threefold, 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
