The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 Lo! I am a faithful messenger unto you, 162 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 What, of all creation will you go to (fornicate with) the males, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? You are a people who transgress all bounds." 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 [Lot] exclaimed: "Behold, I am one of those who utterly abhor your doings!" 168 “My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.” 169 So We delivered him and his family,- all 170 Except an old woman among those who remained behind. 171 then We destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain. So ill was the rain on those warned? 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 175
