The Amramites (Al-Imraan)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Alif, Lam, Meem. 1 Allah! There is no god but He, the Living, the Self-Subsisting, Eternal. 2 He has sent down the Book to you with truth, which fulfils [the predictions] in the Scriptures that preceded it: He sent down the Torah and the Gospel 3 for the guidance of mankind; and He has also revealed the Criterion (to distinguish truth from falsehood). A severe chastisement lies in store for those who deny the signs of Allah. Allah is All-Mighty; He is the Lord of Retribution. 4 Indeed nothing is hidden from Allah, neither in the earth nor in the heavens. 5 He it is Who shapes you in the wombs as He likes; there is no god but He, the Mighty, the Wise 6 He it is who hath sent down unto thee the Book, wherein some verses are firmly constructed - they are the mother of the Book, and others consimilar. But those in whose hearts is a deviation follow that which is consimilar therein, seeking discord and seeking to misinterpret the same; whereas none knoweth the interpretation thereof save Allah. And the firmly-grounded in knowledge say: we believe therein, the whole is from our Lord. And none receiveth admonition save men of understanding. 7 "Let us not go astray, O Lord, having guided us already. Bestow on us Your blessings for You are the benevolent. 8 Our Lord! You surely will gather mankind together one Day, a Day about (the coming of which) there is no doubt. Surely Allah never goes against His promise.' 9

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
