These (people of the right hand) consist of many from the ancient 39 and many from the later generations. 40 But those of the left hand -- how (unhappy) those of the left hand -- 41 In scorching wind and scalding water 42 Under the shadow of thick black smoke 43 neither cool nor good. 44 For, behold, in times gone by they were wont to abandon themselves wholly to the pursuit of pleasures, 45 and would persist in heinous sinning, 46 and would say: "What! After we have died and become mere dust and bones, shall we, forsooth, be raised from the dead? 47 What, and our fathers, the ancients' 48 Say (unto them, O Muhammad): Lo! those of old and those of later time 49 Shall most surely be gathered together for the appointed hour of a known day. 50 Then you, you misguided ones, who deny the truth, 51 "Ye will surely taste of the Tree of Zaqqum. 52 filling your bellies, with it 53 And shall be drinkers thereon of boiling water. 54 like a thirsty camel". 55 Such shall be your hospitality on the Day of Recompense. 56 It is We Who created you, so why do you not accept the truth? 57 Have ye seen that which ye emit? 58 Do you create a child out of it, or are We its creators? 59 It is We Who have ordained death among you, and We have not been beaten 60 In the matter of exchanging you for others, and to transform you into what you do not know. 61 You have surely known of the first creation. Why then, will you not remember! 62 Tell Me! The seed that you sow in the ground. 63 is it you that sow it, or are We the Sower? 64 If We willed, We verily could make it chaff, then would ye cease not to exclaim: 65 crying, "We have been left to suffer loss. 66 nay, we are deprived [altogether]." 67 And have you seen the water that you drink? 68 Did you send it down from the clouds, or did We send it? 69 If We willed We verily could make it bitter. Why then, give ye not thanks? 70 Tell Me! The fire which you kindle, 71 Is it ye who grow the tree which feeds the fire, or do We grow it? 72 We made it a reminder and a provision for the needy. 73 Therefor (O Muhammad), praise the name of thy Lord, the Tremendous. 74

Notes and Instructions
ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
اضغط المثلثات الصغيرة في أعلى الإطار وأسفله إلى اليسار لعرض فهرس السور، حيث يمكنك الانتقال إلى أي سورة أو أية صفحة بداخلها.
Click or tap the small triangles above and below the frame on the right to display the Surah Table of Contents, where you can go to any Surah or any page within.
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
