▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
No! By the moon 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 Save those who will stand on the right hand. 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 Concerning the culprits: 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 Till death overtook us. 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 There is no doubt that the Quran is a guide. 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
