Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 and the moon is darkened, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
