The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By oath of the heaven which contains the constellations. 1 And [by] the promised Day 2 by the witness and the witnessed, 3 Cursed be the makers of the pit, 4 Of the fuel-fed fire, 5 They sat by it 6 and were themselves witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 Him, Whose is the dominion of heavens and the earth. And Allah is over everything a Witness. 9 Those who persecute the believing men and women without repenting will suffer the torment of hell and that of the burning fire. 10 (But) for those who believe and do good works, for them there are Gardens underneath which rivers flow that is the Great Victory! 11 Verily the grip of thine Lord is severe. 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 and He is the Ever Forgiving, the Most Loving 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 Effecter of what He intends. 16 Has the story of the hordes 17 Of Pharaoh and the Thamud? 18 Nay, but those who disbelieve live in denial 19 And Allah encompasses them from behind! (i.e. all their deeds are within His Knowledge, and He will requite them for their deeds). 20 But this is an honored Qur'an 21 upon an imperishable tablet [inscribed]. 22
