Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
8 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa) before The Afternoon (Al-'Asr)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Did We not widen your bosom? 1 And eased thee of the burden 2 that had weighed so heavily on thy back? 3 And [have We not] raised thee high in dignity? 4 Surely with hardship there is ease. 5 Verily, with the hardship, there is relief (i.e. there is one hardship with two reliefs, so one hardship cannot overcome two reliefs). 6 Hence, when thou art freed [from distress,] remain steadfast, 7 and let thy Lord be thy Quest. 8
God the Almighty always says the truth.
