Pilgrimage (Al-Hajj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ O people, fear your Lord; indeed the earthquake of the Last Day is a tremendous thing. 1 On the Day when you behold it, every woman that feeds a child at her breast will utterly forget her nursling, and every woman heavy with child will bring forth her burden [before her time]; and it will seem to thee that all mankind is drunk, although they will not be drunk - but vehement will be [their dread of] God's chastisement. 2 And among men there is such a one that disputes concerning God without knowledge and follows every rebel Satan, 3 against whom it is written down that whosoever takes him for a guide, he guides astray, and leads him to the punishment of the Blaze. 4 O people! If you are in doubt about the Resurrection, remember that We first created you from dust, then from a sperm drop, then from clotted blood, then a lump of flesh, both shaped and unshaped, so that We might manifest to you [Our power]. We cause what We will to stay in the womb for an appointed time, then We bring you forth as infants and then We cause you to grow and reach full growth. Then, some of you will pass away early in life, while some of you will reach extreme old age in which they will know nothing of what they once knew. You see the earth, dead and barren, but no sooner do We send down rain upon it than it begins to stir and swell, and produce every kind of luxuriant vegetation: 5 That is because Allah, He is the Truth, and it is He Who gives life to the dead, and it is He Who is Able to do all things. 6 The Hour will come without a doubt, and God will raise those who are dead. 7 And of the people is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge or guidance or an enlightening book [from Him], 8 They wrangle arrogantly, intent on leading people astray from the Way of Allah. Such shall suffer disgrace in this world and We shall cause them to taste the chastisement of burning (in the Next). 9 (And unto him it will be said): This is for that which thy two hands have sent before, and because Allah is no oppressor of His slaves. 10
