۞ Those who do not expect a meeting with Us say, "Why are angels not sent down to us?" Or "Why do we not see our Lord?" Surely, they are too proud of themselves and have greatly exceeded all bounds. 21 The Day whereon they shall behold the angels on that day there will be no joy for the culprits, and they will say: away! away! 22 And We shall turn unto the work they did and make it scattered motes. 23 The dwellers of Paradise on that day will have the best residence and resting place. 24 The Day the heaven shall be rent asunder with clouds, and angels shall be sent down, descending (in ranks),- 25 The true kingship on that day belongs to the Most Gracious; and that is hard for the disbelievers. 26 and a Day on which the evildoer will bite his hands [in despair,] exclaiming: "Oh, would that I had followed the path shown to me by the apostle! 27 "Ah! Woe to me! Would that I had never taken so-and-so as a friend! 28 "He indeed led me astray from the Reminder (this Quran) after it had come to me. And Shaitan (Satan) is ever a deserter to man in the hour of need." 29 And the messenger saith: O my Lord! Lo! mine own folk make this Qur'an of no account. 30 O Muhammad, in this very way We have made the criminals the enemies of every Prophet, but your Lord suffices for you as your Guide and Helper. 31 And those who disbelieve say, "Why was the Qur'an not revealed to him all at once?" Thus [it is] that We may strengthen thereby your heart. And We have spaced it distinctly. 32 They bring not to thee any similitude but that We bring thee the truth, and better in exposition. 33 They who shall be gathered prone on their faces unto Hell - those shall be worst in respect of place and the most astray in respect of path. 34
