Hizb 38
< random >
The people of Noah [too] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 105 span class="col">Their brother Noah asked them, "Why do you not fear God? 106 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 107 "So fear Allah, keep your duty to Him, and obey me. 108 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the Lord of the Worlds: 109 "So keep your duty to Allah, fear Him and obey me." 110 ۞ They said, “Shall we believe in you, whereas the abject people are with you?” 111 He said: 'I have no knowledge of what they have done. 112 Their account falls only upon My Lord, if you were but aware. 113 I am not going to drive away any believers. 114 I am only a plain admonisher." 115 They said: "O Noah! If you do not desist, you will certainly become one of the accursed." 116 [Whereupon] he prayed: "O my Sustainer! Behold, my people have given me the lie: 117 therefore, judge decisively between me and them; and save me and the believers who are with me." 118 And so We saved him and those [who were] with him in the fully-laden ark, 119 Then We drowned the rest thereafter. 120 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 121 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Ever Compassionate. 122
